Obituary

Donald Carl Erdman, 61, of Blooming Prairie, died December 24, 2010, at Maple Manor in Rochester. He was born April 20, 1949 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Herbert and Anna (Anderson) Erdman. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1967 and then attended Minneapolis School of Art. He went on to work for E.F. Johnson and Co. in Waseca as a Design Engineer for ten years. He then was co-owner of E O Tool and Plastics in Elk River where Don was also the National Sales Manager until his retirement in 2000. In 1992, he married Ruth Johnson and they made their home in Elk River. Ruth died August 2002. Don was past President of Elk River Chamber of Commerce. He had a love of art which was shown not only in his work but also in his hobbies. He built model cars and trains, new homes and loved to draw. He also loved to travel. He is survived by his mother, Annie Erdman of Owatonna; three brothers, Marv (and Joan) Erdman of Pequot Lakes, Steve (and Cheryl) Erdman of Owatonna, Bill (and Sue) Erdman of Waseca; Ruth's two children, Mark (and Ingrid) Johnson and their son, Quinn of Elk River, Brenda (and Daryl) Lund and their children, Travis, Cynthia, and Nicholas of Wyoming, MN; nieces and nephews, Kara Deml, Molly Erdman, Michael Erdman, Stephanie O'Bryant; aunts and uncles; and long-time business partner, Jim Osterman of Big Lake. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert and wife, Ruth. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held December 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Vicki Hultine officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Nowthen.
