Donald Howard Parker, 84, of Owatonna, died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Homestead Hospice House.
He was born July 20, 1934 in Republic, Kansas the son of Charles D. and Ruby (Powers) Parker. Donald graduated from Republic High School in 1953. After graduation, he moved to Minnesota where he worked at Central Coop. In 1957, Donald was drafted into the Army and served for two years. After the army, in 1959, Donald married Audrey Moe on November 15. Don was employed at Owatonna Manufacturing Company for 19 years and he also worked at various service stations. He retired from Central Valley Coop.
Don was a member of United Methodist Church and Am Vets. He enjoyed serving people, ushering at church, pouring coffee and visiting with everyone he met. He had a joyful spirit. He spent many hours watching sports.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Parker; son, Phillip (Brenda) Parker; daughters, Diane (Kevin) Deling, Judi (Richard) Carlson, Kaye (Scott) Swartzentruber; 7 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard (Eula Mae) Parker; sister, Joyce (Darwin) Bohler and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Ruby Parker; brother, Charles F. (Eleanor) Parker.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm and one hour prior to service at the church. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11 am at United Methodist Church with Pastor Linda Boorman officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to United Methodist Church or Homestead Hospice House.
