Donald Edward Proulx, 86, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born May 11, 1934 in Owatonna the son of Edward and Jenny (Behrands) Proulx. Don was raised in Owatonna where he started working for Jostens as a teenager. He then served two years active duty in the United States Army and 29 years in the Army National Guard, retiring after a combined 31 years of service. Don was united in marriage to Joan Patterson on June 29, 1957 at the Congregational Church in West Concord. They made their home in Owatonna. After 40 years of service he retired from Jostens in July of 1993.
Don was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Am. Vets, and Redeemer Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his volunteer work at Heritage Halls Museum. Don loved camping, fishing, spending time outdoors and playing horseshoes. His number one priority was his family. He loved the annual family reunions that have been held for over 40 years.
He is survived by daughters, Kim (and Ron) Tillman of Sartell, Julie (and Brian) Johnson of Austin; son, Scott Proulx of Owatonna; grandchildren, Sean (and Brie) Tillman, Stephanie (and Jeff) Cielocha, Brent Johnson, Amy Johnson, Jeremy Johnson; great grandchildren, Emmett Tillman, Nash Tillman, Aiden Cielocha, Jamie Cielocha, Finn Johnson, Landen Johnson; sister, Deloris (and Don) Glynn of Blooming Prairie; special friend, Jeri Mortenson of Owatonna and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Proulx; brothers, Paul Proulx, William Proulx, Leroy Proulx; sisters, Barbara Borwege, Hazel Harris.
Visitation will be at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Friday from 12pm to 2pm. Funeral services will be held February 12, 2021 at 2pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church with The Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
