Doris G. Wood, 81, of Owatonna, died Monday, December 27, 2010 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born February 4, 1929 in Lemond Twsp., Steele Co., Minnesota the daughter of Carl and H. Marie (Hanson) Johnson. Doris grew up in Lemond Township, and attended District #72 school in Lemond Township. Doris married Roland Wood August 8, 1945 at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, the couple lived in Steele Center and later back in Lemond Township. Roland died in November of 1998, Doris later moved to Owatonna. She was a lifelong member of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. She enjoyed taking walks in the woods, reading, and doing embroidery. She is survived by her children David (JoAnn) Wood of Prosper, Tx, JoAnn (Dennis) Hess of Owatonna, Leonard (Deb) Wood of Owatonna, Barbara (Dennis) Rupprecht of Ellendale, Karen (Dale) Ellis of New Richland, Betty Wood of Faribault, and Linda (Tom) Underland of Owatonna, seventeen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters Loretta Anderson of McComb, Ill, Eunice Colmer of West Concord, and Elaine Halla of Owatonna. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons Michael and John, one grandson Robert, brother Burnett Johnson, and three sisters Alvina Christianson, Muriel Grubisch, and Carol Sukow. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday December 30, 2010 from 5-8 PM and on Friday from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday December 31, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend John Weisenburger officiating.
