Dorothy A. Kruckeberg, 90, of Owatonna, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at Cedarview Care Center. She was born August 29, 1918 in Aurora Township the daughter of Frank and Lydia (Kuntz) Pittman. Dorothy attended country school in Steele County. She married Floyd Kruckeberg September 22, 1937 at St. John Lutheran Church. The couple farmed together for many years. Dorothy moved off the farm to live in Owatonna in 2001. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was active in circle. She had been a member of the Bixby Westside Club for several years. Dorothy enjoyed flower gardening, baking, cooking, dancing, playing cards and traveling. She is survived by her children, Eugene Kruckeberg of Hope, Glenn (and Carol) Kruckeberg of Claremont, Patricia (and Jim) Hoffmann of Owatonna, Marilyn (and Greg) Thomas of Kasson, Nancy (and Mark) Dean of Owatonna; 12 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; sister, Rosa Kruckeberg of Owatonna; brother, Kenneth Pittman of Claremont and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; daughter-in-law, Lorene Kruckeberg. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday from 5pm to 8pm and at St. John Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 11:00am at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church, Cedarview Care Center or to the donor''s choice.
