Dorothy Muriel Anderson, 89, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at her home. She was born May 30, 1918 in Berlin Township the daughter of Ernest and Clara Mathilda (Carlson) Hatch. Dorothy graduated from New Richland High School in 1936 as the valedictorian of her class. She married Lloyd "Spud" Anderson April 27, 1938 in Iowa. The couple farmed together in Berlin Twsp., Steele County until they moved to Owatonna in 1947. Dorothy worked for Harts Central Bakery and as a bookkeeper for her husbands business. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed poetry, playing piano and gardening. She loved all animals and would often times feed the animals or neighborhood pets that would show up at her home. Dorothy held dear the time spent with her family. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Darlene Schuler of Owatonna, Barbara Anderson of Rockford, IL; granddaughters, Deb (and Ken) Walker of Faribault, Tammy (and Scott Schwartz) Loquai of Owatonna; great grandchildren, Josh Loquai, Rachel Loquai; step great grandchildren, Heidi Walker, Gretchen (and Joe) Remington. She was preceded in death by her husband and 1 sister. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 PM and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday from 9-10 AM. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the LeSueur River Lutheran Cemetery near New Richland.
