Dorothy Helen Hansen, 83, of Palm Desert, California, died Friday, December 25, 2009 at the home of her sister, Donna Kubista. She was born November 14, 1926 in Owatonna the daughter of Walter and Helen (Clausen) Spiekermann. Dorothy graduated from Owatonna High School. She married M. Donald Hansen Aug 7, 1949. The couple moved to California following their marriage living in Hawthorne, Costa Mesa and most recently Palm Desert. While in California she received her Associate of Arts Degree from Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. She was an avid tennis player and loved square dancing, gardening and entertaining. Dorothy is survived by her son, Dan (and Jana) Hansen of Longmont, CO; grandchildren, Joshua, Samantha, Sarah all of Colorado; sisters, Eleanor (and Howard) Schroht, Donna Kubista both of Owatonna and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday, December 31, 2009 from 2pm to 3pm with a time to share memories at 3pm.
