Dorothy M. Jensen, 92, of Owatonna, died Friday, March 23, 2018 at Koda Living Community. She was born June 6, 1925 in Owatonna, the daughter of Ernest and Anna (Hammann) Gartman. Dorothy attended Owatonna High School. She worked at Dr. Dewey's office from 1944 until retiring in 1983. Dorothy married Robert Bob Jensen on January 12, 1963 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Owatonna. After 49 years of marriage, Bob preceded her in death in 2012. Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked on the "Road to Recovery" program for the American Cancer Society and volunteered at Heritage Halls Museum. Dorothy enjoyed bowling, golf, travel, playing cards with her family and friends and vacationing near Gull Lake. She was an avid sports fan for many years. She is survived by her sister, Elaine Schaper, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one sister. Visitation will be at St. John Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 2pm at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
