Dorothy J. McMillen , 78, of Owatonna, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Cedarview Care Center. She was born June 1, 1929 in Parkersburg, Iowa the daughter of Herbert and Tina (Hertz) Dix. Dorothy grew up in New Hartford, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School. She married Donald McMillen in 1947 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Dorothy moved to Owatonna in 1959 from Oelwein, Iowa. She worked at Christgau''s drug store and Northwestern Bell for several years. Dorothy suffered for 25 years with Multiple Sclerosis. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sharon (and Kerry) Monsrud of St Paul Park; son, Charles (and Sharon) McMillen of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Roy McMillen of Marietta, GA, Chad McMillen of Orlando, FL, Sheena (and Omar) Moreno of Cottage Grove, Kamron Monsrud of St Paul Park; great-grandson, Gavin McMillen; brother, Schueler Dix of Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law, Betty Dix of Iowa Falls IA. Dorothy enjoyed playing the piano, singing, fishing and pizza. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald and one brother Jim Dix. Memorial services will be held Monday, May 12 at 10AM at Michaelson Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Michaelson Funeral Home.
