Dorothy Mae Pichner, 93, of Owatonna, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Owatonna Care Center. Dorothy was born August 27, 1920 in Owatonna the daughter of William and Mamie (Arndt) Pichner. She graduated from Owatonna High School in 1938. In 1940 Dorothy started working at Woolworths in Owatonna where she was a bookkeeper for 45 years until she retired in 1985. After she retired she volunteered for the Owatonna Historical Society and at St. John Lutheran counting money in the office. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Dorothy was a member of Eagles Auxiliary, Hospital Auxiliary, ZCBJ Lodge and St. John Lutheran Church. She is survived by her many cousins, neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Marcella Pichner. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior with the Reverend Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be held in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorials preferred to St. John Lutheran Church or Donors Choice.
