Obituary

Dorothy Marie (Robinson) Olson joined her beloved husband, Dr. A. J. Olson and son Craig, in heaven on March 21, 2014. She was born in Gorman Texas March 31, 1921 and her family moved to CA. She graduated from USC with a BS in Nursing. She married Albert Jarl Olson in1944 and moved in Owatonna, MN, when he returned from WWII. They had 5 children: Susan, Craig, Sally, Carla and Mark. Dorothy was an active volunteer, including the Red Cross, the vision and Hearing Clinics, leading the Candy Stripe program, and active in Girl And boy Scouts. She also was a founding member of the McKinley School PTA and the Owatonna Arts Center. She also was a volunteer librarian at Trinity Lutheran Church and was the housing chairman and president of AFS. She was the first woman to serve on the Owatonna Planning Commission, a member of the Governor's Human Rights Commission, the State Board of the League of Women voters and Medical Auxiliary. Her joys in life were her family, playing tennis and the family lake cabin. She is survived by Susan Axelson (Mitchell), Carla Olson (Don Allen, Collin and Lauren), Sally Rinehart (Michael, Maureen, Stephanie) and Mark Olson (Linda, Jessica and Robert), her extended Olson/Robinson family and the Anderson Clan. Funeral services will be held in Owatonna, MN, on Saturday, March 29, at the Michaelson Funeral Home with visitation starting at 10 am and service at 11 am.
