Dorothy Elizabeth Springer, 91, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at The Emeralds of Faribault. She was born on August 30, 1927, in Owatonna the daughter of Albert and Mary (Kvasnicka) Kruger. She spent many years on the farm. When her parents moved into town, she moved to Mankato and worked in factories. She married Joseph H. Johnson in Elizabethtown, KY, and they later divorced. Dorothy and her son, James, moved back to Minnesota. On September 11, 1974, she married Merton E. Springer. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Janann Johnson; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; step-son, James R. (Elaine) Springer; step-daughter, Carol (Gene) Stoltman; eight step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Johnson (April 3, 2019); husband, Merton and two sisters, Martha and Caroline. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Saturday from 1-2pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2:00pm at Michaelson Funeral Home.
