Dorothy M. Wavrin, age 94, of Owatonna, MN, died Monday, August 01, 2016, in her home at Valley View Assisted Living in Owatonna. Dorothy Mae Vesely was born on May 31, 1922 in Steele County, Minnesota the daughter of Vincent and Frances (Jirovsek) Vesely. She graduated from Owatonna High School, Class of 1941. She was united in marriage to Jerome Jerry Wavrin and they enjoyed 61 years together. Dorothy spent much of her life as a caregiver. She loved to dance, play golf and enjoyed many outdoor activities. She especially enjoyed her family. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David (Carol) of Hibbing and Dennis (Maureen) of Maple Grove; sister, Norma Karaus of Lacey Washington; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Frances; husband, Jerry (11/7/2003); grandson, Wade; four sisters and two brothers. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016, at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna, Minnesota with the Reverend Chad Spinler officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Owatonna.
