Douglas William Buan, 57, of Owatonna, formerly of Kenyon, died Monday, September 26, 2016 at Central Health Center in Le Center, Minnesota. The youngest son of Ellsworth and Mary (Odegaard) Buan he was born February 28, 1959 in Faribault. Douglas was baptized and confirmed at Hauge Lutheran Church in Kenyon. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Kenyon High School in 1977. On November 16, 1991 he was united in marriage to Christine Larsen. To this union two sons were born. They later divorced. Doug has lived in Owatonna the last number of years and attended Elevation North Church and loved his church family. He called Pastor Doug Jones and his wife, Debbie, his special angels! He loved his sons and enjoyed going out to eat with his brother, Bob. Doug liked watching the Minnesota Vikings and American Pickers on the History channel. Doug is survived by his sons, Joseph Joey Buan and Shawn Buan both of Kenyon. His siblings, Richard (and Ardie) Buan of Litchfield, David (and Beverly) Buan of Oakdale, Daniel (and Paulette) Buan of Kenyon, Ann (and Roland) Truelson of Owatonna, Robert Buan of Owatonna. Also surviving are his former wife, Christine Buan of Kenyon, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the family, Elevation North Church, or donor's choice.
