Douglas J. Olson, 64, of Owatonna died at his home on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Douglas was born on October 25, 1959, the son of Alvin and Jean (Chester) Olson, in Owatonna. He grew up in Owatonna and attended school there. He attended basic training for the Marine Corp between his junior and senior year graduating from Owatonna High School in 1978. He worked at the State Hospital in Faribault and then several other jobs including construction and as grounds keeper at a golf course. Doug then drove truck until being injured in an accident. He enjoyed watching all sports and in his younger years played softball, bowled and golfed. He also enjoyed watching his nephews play sports.

He is survived by his brothers, Kenneth Olson, Darrin Olson and Jason Olson all of Owatonna. He is also survived by 3 nieces , 3 nephews, 5 great nieces and 3 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 22, 2024 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna.
