Obituary

Douglas Alan Stewart, 58, of Owatonna, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Mankato Hospital.

He was born July 16, 1966, in Owatonna, to Donald and Carol (Berger) Stewart. Doug grew up in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1984. Shortly after graduation Doug joined the Minnesota National Guard. He served as an infantryman for 19 years and travelled though out the United States being called to help with wherever he was needed. He was married to Beth, and they were blessed with three children, Isabella, Alexander, and Levi. They later divorced. Upon his time in the service Doug worked various driving positions and recently volunteered for the Minnesota VA driving local veterans to appointments.

Doug was known to be a jokster and playing practical jokes with everyone. He was always stirring the pot with his children, nieces and nephews getting them into "trouble". He was very precise with everything that he did from cleaning and restoring guns to more recently restoring watches. When Doug was committed to something he fully embraced himself to it and gave it 120%. He was always looking for that next thing to challenge himself with.

He is survived by his daughter, Isabella Stewart of Mitchell, SD; siblings, Kim (and Tom) Greinier, and Darin (and Lisa) Stewart; nieces and nephews, Thomas (and Katrina) Greinier and their daughter Evalyn, Zach (and Holly) Stewart, Ashley (and Dane) Schroeder and their children Elliott, Kellyn, and Benji; Ryan (and Megan) Stewart and their daughter, Saylor, many cousins, and his best friend, Charlie Kilness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Stewart, and Carol Johnstone; children, Alexander and Levi Stewart; and great-nephew, Phil Schroeder.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Interment will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date.
