Earl George Gedicke, 71, of Sturgeon Lake, died Friday, December 5, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake. He was born April 18, 1937 in Merton Township the son of Paul and Alvera (Dunker) Gedicke. Earl farmed for several years, drove rendering truck and later was a machinist for OTC. Earl retired from OTC in 1999. In 2002, Earl and his wife built a home near Sturgeon Lake. He was a member of Aurora Lutheran Church and a former member of the Owatonna Eagle's. Earl enjoyed horses. He would drive horse and buggy and went on many trail rides. He also enjoyed camping and playing cards. He particularly enjoyed playing 500 with Jack and Dee. Above all, Earl enjoyed time with his family and his grandsons. Earl is survived by his wife, Donna Gedicke of Sturgeon Lake; son, Keith (and Jolene Gundermann) Gedicke of Waseca; daughters, Cheryl (and Sam) Burton of Landmark, Manitoba, Debbie (and Gary Henkensiefken) Gedicke of Ellendale, Jackie Boss of Owatonna, Vickie (and Patrick) Finnegan of Owatonna; grandsons, Randy Gedicke, Brady Burton, Brendan Boss, Aaron Boss; brothers, Robert (and Mona) Gedicke of Owatonna, Ronald (and Judy) Gedicke of Clarissa and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ed Gedicke. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8pm and on Tuesday from 10-11am. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 9 at 11:00am at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Paul Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Lutheran Cemetery in Aurora Township.
