Obituary

Edith I. Oeltjenbruns, 76, of Owatonna, died Friday, July 24, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Edith was born June 2, 1933 in Ellendale, Minnesota the daughter of Agnes Nelson. She graduated from Ellendale High School in 1951 and married Walter Oeltjenbruns on March 11, 1951 in Ellendale. The couple farmed together in Meriden and later in Claremont. Edith worked at JC Penney's in Owatonna from 1961 until the store closed in 1989. Walter died in 1969. Edith was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Meriden. She was a caretaker from the word go, helping her family, friends, and other families in any way she could. Edith helped out with the Hospital Auxiliary, and Senior Place. She enjoyed spending time with her family and also loved flowers. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (and Jerry) Kath of Owatonna, Kathy (and Kevin) Budig of Northfield; son, Ron (and Judy) Oeltjenbruns of Owatonna; eight grandchildren Tony (and Becky) Kath, Joel (and Lisa) Kath, Jason (and Jenny) Kath, Nate Budig, Nik Budig, Jenny (and Chad Bretl) Oeltjenbruns, Andy ( and Katie) Oeltjenbruns, and Mike Oeltjenbruns. Nine great grandchildren Taylor, Trevor, Adam, Ava, Ellie, Kaelyn, Jackson, Lance, and Lilly also survive Edith. Her mother and husband preceded her in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday July 26, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Monday July 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Meriden with The Reverend Gary Rusinko officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul''s Lutheran Church, or the Hospital Auxiliary.
