Edna Rose Beese , 94, of Owatonna, Minnesota, died Sunday, February 10, 2008 at her daughters home. She was born November 20, 1913 in rural Steele County, daughter of Gotleib and Anna (Scholljegerdes) Zacharias. At age 5, her family moved to Wadena, MN where she lived until age 18 when she moved back to Owatonna to work at the State School. On July 26, 1941 she married Walter Klamm. Together they operated a livestock trucking business in Meriden. Walter preceded her in death August 5, 1948. On September 17, 1949 she married Lyle Beese. She later worked for the Owatonna Canning Co. for 13 years and worked at Kath Brothers Store in Meriden and also at Ev's Kitchen and Village in Owatonna. After retirement she and Lyle worked parttime as custodians for the VFW in Owatonna. Edna was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Meriden and a member of the VFW Auxillary. She enjoyed taking bus trips, gardening, playing cards and spending time with her family. Edna is survived by her daughter Avis Lewison of Owatonna, MN, granddaughter Tamara (Robert) Marek of Marshfield, WI., grandson Vincent Stanton of Owatonna, Great-grandchildren Nicole and Michael Marek and her sister Esther Abbe of Meriden and her brother Alvin Zacharias of Wadena She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle and 4 brothers: Ernest, Art, Herman and Ewald. Also by 2 sisters: Lauretta and Luella. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 10:30 am at St Paul's Lutheran Church of Meriden with the Reverend Gary Rusinko officiating.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
