Edna Karsten, age 92, of Allentown, PA formerly of Owatonna passed into eternal life Monday, November 2, 2015 at Cedarbrook, Allentown, PA. Edna was born February 18, 1923 in New Richland, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur and Emilia (Zwar) Schwenke. She was united in marriage to Carl Karsten. Edna was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Macungie, PA and an active member of their sewing group. She volunteered at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown where she earned awards for the highest volunteer hours. As a volunteer, Edna enjoyed playing pinochle with the residents. She was loved and admired by residents, other volunteers and staff. She is survived by her daughters, Joan Fish of Metuchen, NJ; Karol Schmick of Kutztown, PA; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters Emma Mussman and Ada Logan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, her parents and a grandson. Funeral services for Edna will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 beginning at 3:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Jim Oberg officiating. Visitation will follow the service at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
