Elaine Marie Bruhn, 90, of Owatonna, died Monday, October 19, 2015 at Clare Bridge Cottage.
She was born March 26, 1925 in Red Wing, Minnesota the daughter of Bernard and Marian (Melstrom) Eide. Elaine graduated from Red Wing High School. She married Earl W. Bruhn July 5, 1947 at in St. Bonifacius. The couple made their home in Owatonna during which time Elaine worked as a Computer Programmer for Federated Insurance until her retirement in 1988.
She was an avid bridge player, volunteered at Lincoln Elementary School and enjoyed spending winters in warmer climates. Elaine was the first female to be inducted into the Minnesota Softball Hall of fame in 1987.
She is survived by her husband Earl Bruhn of Owatonna; daughters, Tari Garnaas of Milwaukee, WI, Lori (and Dale) Johnson of Owatonna, Joni (and Darrel) Mulholland of Eyota; son, Tom (and Kris) Bruhn of Burnsville; grandchildren, Matt (and Lynna) Garnaas, Chris (and Mira Cho) Garnaas, Justin (and Sara) Johnson, Brandon (and Paula) Johnson, Kelsey (and Jeff) Marks, Emily Bruhn, Tim Bruhn, Carrie (and Matt) Graff, Cassie Mulholland, Clint Mulholland; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (and Jeannine) Eide of Edina; sister, Marge (partner Ann Sorrell) Eide of Ann Arbor, MI; sister-in-law, Darleen Eide of Boulder, Co and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Eide.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, October 23 from 4 pm to 7pm. Memorials are preferred to Owatonna in Support of Alzheimer's or to the donor's choice.
