Elaine Ann Delilla Dummer, 86, of Kenyon, died Friday, January 22, 2021 at her home.
She was born April 4, 1934 in Hector, the daughter of Paul and Mabel (Barnick) Peris. Elaine attended country school and later graduated from Hector High School. She worked at the local dime store, restaurant and gas station. On June 9, 1956 she married Gerald Dummer at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector. The couple made their home in Hector until moving to Sanborn in 1962. They later moved to Fairfax where Elaine worked as a cook at the St. Andrew's Catholic School. In 1980, they moved their family to Kenyon and Elaine enjoyed working at the flower shop and Cenex.
Elaine was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and was active in women's groups. She enjoyed knitting, baking, canning, dancing and gardening and she loved flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Dummer of Kenyon; children, Gary (and Gayle) Dummer of Ellendale, Karen (and David) Lawson of St. Anthony, Dale (and Jackie) Dummer of Edina, Dan (and Missy Sviggum) Dummer of Kenyon; grandchildren, Kristine (and Jon) Svoboda, Lisa Dummer, Megan (and Fiance Tony Menke) Dummer, Darren Lawson, Kelly Lawson, Austin Dummer, Jack Dummer, William Dummer, Kasey Dummer, Riley Dummer; great grandchildren, Levi Svoboda and Lo Svoboda.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Courtney Dummer and brother, Russell Peris.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11am at St. Michael's Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Kenyon.
