Elaine Idella Halla, 90, of Owatonna, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Koda Living Community in Owatonna. She was born August 27, 1923 in Lemond Township, Steele County, Minnesota the daughter of Carl and Marie (Hanson) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. She attended country school. Elaine married Richard Halla on May 29, 1942 at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. They farmed in Somerset Township for many years and later moved to Owatonna. Elaine was a member of First Lutheran Church of Hope. She loved to read. She also enjoyed coffee with friends and visiting. She is survived by her sister, Eunice Colmer of West Concord; many nieces and nephews, and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard (2002), brother, Burnette Johnson, and five sisters, Alvina Christianson, Muriel Grubisch, Loretta Anderson, Doris Wood, and Carol Marie Sukow. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 4, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Sandy Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church of Hope, Pontoppidan Lutheran Church of donor''s choice.
