Elaine Joyce Ponath was born March 3, 1921, in Hankinson, ND, and died in Owatonna, MN, at age 90. She graduated as salutatorian at Madison East High School in 1939. She enrolled at Groves-Barnhart Secretarial School after graduation. She married Herbert Hauschild in 1940 and they spent most of their life together in Owatonna, MN. Elaine was active at Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and for two years was president of Bethany Club. She also served as president of the Jefferson Grade School PTA, and for the Southern Minnesota PTA organization. Elaine was secretary of the Ladies Group at Owatonna Country Club, where she was known as a frequent bridge champion. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Albert and Eva Ponath, her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Elizabeth Ponath, as well as Herb''s brothers and sisters, Wallace, Earl, Floyd, Kathryn, and Irene, and sister-in-law, Luverna. She is survived by her children, Sally (Greg) Rindfleisch, Pam (Steve) Desnick, and Tom (Kris) Hauschild; grandchildren, Andrew Rindfleisch, Amy (Mark) Moeller, Lara (Brian) Hughes, Matthew Hauschild, and Robyn Kemp; and great grandchildren, Samuel and Benjamin Hughes and Ethan Moeller. She is also survived by sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Ted Hartman, by sisters-in-law, Sophy Hauschild and Marlys Hauschild, and by numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. A graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in the spring. Memorials preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church or donor''s choice.
