Elaine M. Hanson, 87, lifelong resident of Kenyon died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Fairview Seminary Home, Red Wing, MN. Elaine was born December 14, 1923 in Kenyon, Minnesota to Ole and Kristine (Lundley) Hanson. She attended Kenyon High School graduating in 1941. Elaine was united in marriage to John Hanson on September 9, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN. They made their home in Kenyon. She worked at local business including the Blue Bird Cafe, Kenyon bowling alley, movie theatre and at the Kenyon Pool Hall as a waitress. John died in November 2002. Elaine entered the Fairview Seminary Home in Red Wing June 2010. She is survived by five daughters, Judy Erie of Vasa; Susan (and Mike) Knudsen of Hager City, WI; Vicky (and Mark) Avery of West Concord; Melanie Bateman of Red Wing; Brenda Lingenfelter of Kenyon; three sons, Gerald (and Donna) Hanson of Owatonna; Bruce (and Marlene) Hanson of Red Wing; Christian Hanson of Kenyon; 29 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, four sisters, Olga, Hilda, Paula, Ragna and a brother, John R. Hanson. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Friday, August 12, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenyon with The Reverend Luther Mathsen officiating.
