Eldora L. Hunt, 94, of Owatonna, died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Benedictine Living Community Center of Saint Peter. Eldora Lorraine Quam was born April 21, 1916 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Albert and Andrena (Molde) Quam. Here she was raised and attended school through the eighth grade and also worked on the family farm in Merton Township until the age of 21. During this time, Eldora worked at Sander's Restaurant. She was united in marriage to Luverne Hunt on June 20, 1945 at St. John Lutheran Church. They had two children, Harold and Sharon. She worked at Lou Ann's, SH Green Stamp Store and 20 years at Truth Hardware in Owatonna retiring from Truth Hardware in 1981. Luverne died in 1969. She was a resident at Benedictine Living Community Center in Saint Peter since 2008. Eldora was a great fan of the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings following each and every game. She was known for her knitting of dish cloths and teaching some nurses how to knit them. They were her special gifts. She loved being with her family; grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved having and planning family reunions. Eldora also kept a daily diary of the weather for that day, going back 40 years. She was a member at St. John Lutheran Church, the Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Harold (and Bonnie) Hunt of Saint Peter; a daughter, Sharon (and Gilbert) Kubicek of Cass Lake; a brother, Kenneth Quam of Owatonna; three sisters, Lillian King of Owatonna; Bernice Eriksen of Huntley, IL; Adeline Milusnic of Pueblo, CO; a grandson, Chad (and Jodi) Hunt of New Prague; a granddaughter, Sara (and Steve) Albers of Copenhagen, Denmark; and four great grandchildren, Joey and Molly Hunt and Sam and Ben Albers. She was preceded in death by her husband Luverne and a sister, Gladys Weisjahn. Visitation will be at St. John Lutheran Church on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery, Owatonna.
