Eleanor Lillian Morrison, 97, of Owatonna, formerly of Clinton Falls died Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Sterling House. Eleanor was born December 5, 1916, in Faribault, Minnesota the daughter of Harry and Nellie (Leatherman) Christison. She grew up at Kerkhoven, Minnesota until her first year of high school when she moved with her parents to Clinton Falls on September 4, 1932. She then attended and graduated from Medford High School and after high school she attended the University of Minnesota Morris. Eleanor was united in marriage to R. Donald Morrison on August 26, 1939, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. The couple was blessed with two children. Eleanor was a stay at home Mom raising her two children and later she worked for the Owatonna Library for over 20 years. Donald died on September 7, 1983. Eleanor was interested in gardening, baking and she enjoyed her numerous dogs during her life. She also enjoyed volunteering. She volunteered at Cedarview Care Center and was also a charter member and life member of the hospital auxiliary and President of Barrack''s Auxiliary. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Owatonna. She served on the Diaconate, taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir. She is survived a son, Reginald "Reg" (and special friend Cheryl) Morrison of Fargo; a daughter, Virginia (and Carl) Miller of Welch two grandchildren, Adam (and Carole) Miller of Apple Valley; Carla Miller of Chicago, IL; two great grandchildren, Sarah and Emily Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years; her parents; and a brother, Clarence. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held February 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Avery officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Clinton Falls Township. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sterling House for the loving care of their mother and grandmother, Eleanor.
