Eleanor Marie Schroht, 89, of Owatonna, died Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Koda Living Community. She was born July 24, 1930 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Walter and Helen (Clausen) Spiekermann. She attended school in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1948. On August 14, 1949, she married Howard O. Schroht in Owatonna. The couple lived all of their married life in Owatonna. Along with being a dedicated wife and mother, Eleanor worked at the Owatonna Canning Company, OTC (from which she retired), Owatonna school as a SACC attendant and most recently as a greeter at Walmart. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time at the lake during the summer. Eleanor always dressed and looked nice. She enjoyed shopping, dancing, and collecting roosters. Her advice to everyone would be to live your life the best you can and be happy. She is survived by children, Theresa "Terry" (and Gary) Miller of Albert Lea, Gary (and Connie) Schroht of Baxter, Diane Schroht of Owatonna and Tim (and Lori) Schroht of Owatonna; sister, Donna Kubista of Owatonna;10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Helen; husband, Howard Schroht; sister, Dorothy Hansen. A Celebration of Life is being planned for August 14, 2020, at the home of Tim Schroht.
