Elizabeth Freda Becker, 97, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Brookdale Assisted Living. She was born June 2, 1921 to August and Freda (Utecht) Reiter, at their farm home in Steele County. A lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church of Owatonna, she was baptized June 26, 1921, and confirmed June 2, 1935. She attended District 43 rural school in Steele County. On November 25, 1939 she married Fred Becker at the St. John Lutheran Church parsonage. Elizabeth was a homemaker, and a nursing assistant at Cedarview Nursing Home in Owatonna. She enjoyed sewing, baking, reading, gardening, walking, visiting with friends and family, and watching Twins baseball games. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, including bible study, and the quilting group. She is survived by her four children, Barbara Becker of Owatonna, John Becker of Madison, SD, James (Beth) Becker of Ypsilanti, MI, and Cheryl (James Bredeson) Becker of Madison, WI; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters, Jeanette Pirkl, Berniece Schroht, and Joan (Charles) Mosher; brother-in-law, Thomas Lambert and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Norman (Emily) Reiter, sister Jean Lambert, and brothers-in-law John Becker, Sebastian Pirkl, and Gerald Schroht. Visitation will be at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna on Monday from 10-11am. Funeral services will be held March 4, 2019 at 11am at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna with Pastor Jacie Richmond officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church, Allina Hospice, Owatonna Public Library or a charity of your choice.
