Elizabeth J. Dostal, 98, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born April 6, 1910 in, Webster City, IA the daughter of Saul and Myra (Sparks) Hightshoe. Elizabeth married John Dostal September 3, 1931 at the Steele County Fair in Owatonna. The couple lived in Owatonna and later moved to California and then to Austin, MN. They later moved back to Owatonna in 1970 after John retired. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and the Keenagers Club at United Prairie Bank. Elizabeth enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, quilting, crafts, flowers, and baking. She is survived by two daughters Katherine (Lester) Keck and Barbara Wahl both of Owatonna, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. Her parents, husband John, daughter Lulabelle, son Kenneth, three sisters and five brothers preceded her in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday March 15, 2009 from 4-7 PM and at United Methodist Church on Monday March 16, 2009 one hour prior to the service. Funeral service will be Monday March 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at United Methodist Church with Reverend Loren Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Owatonna.
