Elma Clausen, 93, of Owatonna, died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Cedarview Care Center in Owatonna. She was born September 14, 1918 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota the daughter of Iver and Martha (Bunes) Iverson. On June 30, 1940, she married Julius Clausen at Northwood, Iowa whom she had met while both of them worked at Cashman''s Nursery in Owatonna. Elma worked in retail and spent 20 years at the Sears store in Owatonna. Elma was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking, fishing, gardening and playing cards. In addition, she spent many years volunteering at Cedarview Care Center. She is survived by her son, Jim (and Suzanne) Clausen of Rochester; two grandchildren, Jenifer Woods of Rochester, and Steve (and Wendy) Clausen of Fort Worth, Texas; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Julius in 1998, two brothers, and six sisters. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM . Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Dean Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Lake Side Cemetery in Heron Lake.
