Elmer F. Holz , 86, of Kenyon, went to his heavenly home on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Faribault Care Center. He was born August 27, 1927 in Little Falls, Minnesota the son of Carl and Minnie (Schroder) Holz. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Arlene Hemmelman on November 11, 1950, and the couple lived in Kenyon. Elmer and his brother Otto at a young age were loggers. In 1951 they moved Randolph and pursued a job in farming which was his passion. He farmed for most of his life until 1972 when he started to work for Goodhue Canning Co., where he worked for 27 years until he retired in 1999. He loved fishing and hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He had a love for animals especially his German shepherd dogs. He is survived by his wife Arlene Holz of 62 years, children, Diane (Loren) Bangert of Nerstrand, June (Dennis) Wilson of West Concord, Ellen (Jim) Klennert of Lake City, Elmer Jr. (Lisa) Holz of Glenville, Carl (Rose) Holz of Faribault, Joyce (Bob) Klennert of Zumbro Falls, sister, Vernetta (Bob Peterson ) Bienek of West Concord and close friends Donald Hegseth and Bones David and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Minnie Holz, brother, Ervine Holz, brother, Otto Holz, daughter in law, Irene Holz, granddaughter, Lisa Klennert and grandson, Matthew Caron. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Monday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held October 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran, Havana Township with The Reverend Alan Broadwell officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Havana Township. Special Thanks to Angela Amber, Jessie and the caring staff at Faribault Care Center for extra love and care given to Elmer and the Holz family. Dad you will be missed and never forgotten.
