Elmore Albert Sorenson, 91, of Owatonna, died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Koda Living Community in Owatonna. He was born December 1, 1922 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Albert and Luella (Mollenhauer) Sorenson. He attended Crane Creek Country School. Elmore married Lucille Wilker on September 22, 1944. They farmed in Havana Township. Elmore also worked as a custodian at Trinity Lutheran Church, U.S. Bank, and Roosevelt School. Elmore was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Eagles. He was a former member of Aurora Lutheran Church and volunteered many years at the Aurora Lutheran Diner Fair Stand. He enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables. He was an excellent cook and baker. He enjoyed fishing and teaching his grandchildren how to fish. Elmore had a good sense of humor and had always had something good to say. He is survived by his four children, Ken (and Alice) Sorenson of Owatonna, Joyce (and Don Larson) Lance of Houston, TX, Kathy Enser of Owatonna, Sharon (and Bruce) Johnson of Owatonna; five grandchildren, Melissa (and Ryan) Warner of Owatonna, Jenny (and Ryan) Heinrichs of Jackson, Becky (and Adam) Rein of Owatonna, Peter Lance of Houston, TX, and Cody Johnson of Owatonna; 12 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Elmer Wilker of Owatonna; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lucille, daughter, Jeanette Nixon, sister, Ruth Borwege, and son-in-law, Marlen Enser. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM . Funeral services will be held Friday, October 3, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Owatonna. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
