Eloise Lou R. Techau, 69, of Owatonna, died Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Owatonna Hospital following a lengthy fight against cancer.
She was born April 1, 1947 in Lansing, Minnesota the daughter of William and Helen (Abbas) Bjork. She grew up in Lansing where she attended grade school and then attended Austin High School. Following her schooling, she worked as a waitress. She was united in marriage to Joseph Earl and the couple later divorced. On June 7, 1981, she married Gerald Techau. The couple made their home in Owatonna. Lou worked at Muckles and WSI in Owatonna and Winegar in Waseca. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Joyce) Earl of Owatonna; and Ted (Julie Jacobs) Earl of Owatonna; step-daughter, Sonya Hewes of Phoenix, AZ; siblings, Roberta (Edward) Pinkava of Austin, Norma (Richard) Stiernagle of Owatonna, Marilyn Ailts of Hudson, WI, Rodney (Alice) Bjork of Apex, NC and Lola (Roland) Hanson of Austin; grandchildren, Thomas Earl, Joseph Earl, MacKenzie Hewes, Jaden Hewes, Courtney Techau and Nathaniel Techau; special friends, Sharon and Marv Johnson and Ruth Ann Gustafson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen; husband, Gerald Techau; and brother, Franklin Sprung.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu (Lou) of flowers, memorial preferred to Hope Lodge in Rochester or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
