Elroy Clinton Forss, 83, of Kenyon, died Friday, May 10, 2019, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. He was born September 21, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Roy and Esther (Pope) Forss. Elroy was an only child and his mother died shortly after he was born. His father remarried and his mother who raised him was Dorothy. He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from high school in 1953. He was united in marriage to Karen Fanning on August 30, 1958 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sparta. Elroy worked most of his career at Toro in Bloomington and then Gemini in Cannon Falls. He resided in Kenyon since 1976. Elroy loved history, fishing, playing cards and later in life loved spending time with his two grandchildren. He is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Forss of Goodhue; son, Matt (and Quynh) Forss of Thornton, CO; grandchildren, Madison and Joshua Forss both of Thornton, CO; sister-in-law, Kathy Fanning of Sparta and brother-in-law, Dan (and Sam) Fanning of Sparta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy, Esther and Dorothy and his wife, Karen. Visitation will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sparta, WI on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 11:00am until the Mass at 12:00 Noon with Fr. Eric Berns officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Sparta.
