Elvera Gerri Kriesel, (94) died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Traditions I in Owatonna. Elvera was born April 3, 1922 on the family farm in Meriden Township in rural Steele County, the eldest daughter of Ewald and Lena (Abbe) Schroeder. On May 5, 1946 she married Eugene J. Kriesel at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Meriden, MN. Gerri and Gene made their home in Owatonna where she helped her husband in their electrical contracting business. She belonged to several bridge and craft clubs. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, traveling and spending time at their lake home. She especially treasured her coffee time with her friends. She is survived by her son, Larry (Julie) Kriesel and daughter Lori (Larry) Jandro, all of Owatonna; grandchildren, Joel (Tiffany) Kriesel, Shane (Jenny) Jandro, Lindsay (Neil) Thompson, and Brittany (Nick) Schlie; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Mason, Caleb, Madelyn, Paige, Brennan, Josiah, and Jaxon; brother, Norbert (Clara) Schroeder of Owatonna and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Gene, sister and brother-in- law Helen and Don Lewer and two great-grandchildren, Christian and Erin Kriesel. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and at church one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Todd Buegler officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
