Elvina C. Underland 74, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Don Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center in Madison, WI. She was born October 21, 1934 in Faribault, MN the daughter of Henry and Emma (Siem) Schulz. Elvina graduated from Faribault High School, class of 1952 and she was first employed at the Faribault Hotel in the kitchen, and was subsequently employed at Federated Insurance in Owatonna for a total of 27 years. Elvina married Marvin D. Underland on July 28, 1956 at St Luke''s church in Faribault. Marvin and Elvina had four children Diann Linn (Mike) Allsen of Madison WI, Randy Scott Underland of Owatonna, Juliann Jean (Dale) Brueske of New Ulm MN, Thomas Allan (Linda) Underland of Owatonna. Elvina was a member of The Associated Church, where she taught Sunday school and Bible School classes. She was a member of the Owatonna Eagles Club and the Federated Insurance Quarter Century Club. Elvina liked to do things with her family: family reunions, camping, going on trips, wintering in Arizona, playing cards, and laughing. She enjoyed meeting friends for coffee and loved to visit. She especially loved her six grandchildren, Sharon, Randy, Jeff, Duane, Terry, and Hunter, and her two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Brianna. Her sister Emily H. Treptow of Wells, sister-in-law Joyce Schulz of Faribault, and brother-in-law Donald Mayer of Monticello also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin, sister Phyllis M. Mayer, and brother Roger H. Schulz. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home Thursday April 23 from 4-7 PM and one hour prior to the service at church. Funeral service will be 2PM Friday April 24 at The Associated Church with Dr. Ronald D. Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
