Emily S. Reiter 91, of Owatonna, died Monday, February 2, 2009 at her residence. She was born November 20, 1917 in Kingsbury Co., South Dakota the daughter of Fred and Theresa (Schwartz) Becker. She graduated from Oldham, SD High School in 1935, and worked at the Oldham Telephone Office before moving to Owatonna in 1937. While in Owatonna she worked at Mac''s Caf and married Norman Reiter at St. John Parsonage January 22, 1938. The couple farmed in Steele County until 1971 when Norman died. She was a life member of hospital auxiliary, a 4-H leader, and held several offices in the Women of the Church; she also worked at Lundberg''s Hardware, and parked cars at the Steele County Fair. Emily enjoyed her family, friends, reading, crocheting, and sewing quilt tops for church, she also had a very special touch for tending to her flowers and plants. She is survived her daughter Judy Wilson (and Clyde Madden) of Marshall, two granddaughters Kimi Wilson (and Sherrie Gayken) of Owatonna, and Shelli Wilson of Wild Rose, WI, and one great granddaughter Amanda (Jerod Hoffman) Rosillo of Wild Rose, WI. Emily is also survived by four sisters in laws and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband Norman and two brothers preceded her in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday February 5 from 4-7 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Funeral services will be held Friday February 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church with Reverend Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
