Eric D. Leonhart, 40, of Owatonna, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at his home in Owatonna. He was born December 23, 1972 in Kenosha, Wisconsin the son of David Leonhard and Deborah (DeSart) Leonhart Johnson. He moved with his family to Owatonna in 1981. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1991. He attended and played football at Carleton College for one year on a football scholarship. He then transferred to the University of Minnesota where he received his Doctorate in Pharmacology. He worked as a pharmacist for Walgreen''s in the twin cities area and Owatonna. He was currently employed at Curt''s Pharmacy in Albert Lea. Eric was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed fishing in southern Minnesota and ice fishing in Mille Lacs. He was a sports fanatic and watched all professional sports. He was also an electronic geek, gun collector, and enjoyed listening to all genres of music. He loved his dogs and enjoyed traveling with his friends. He is survived by his mother, Deborah (and Craig) Johnson of Owatonna; sister, Brenda (and Jason) Moen of Owatonna; nephew, Brandon Moen of Owatonna; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and father, David (1997). Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend John Weisenburger officiating.
