Erwin Bernard Reinhard, 89, of Owatonna, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014. Erwin was born on October 11, 1924 in Owatonna Township to Vern and Albina (Kubicek) Reinhard. Erwin married Elizabeth Betty Staley on October 15, 1947 at Associated Church in Owatonna. He joined the Army in 1945 and was discharged in 1946. After the Army he worked for Muckle Manufacturing from 1946-1958. In 1960 he started working for the city of Owatonna as a heavy equipment operator for 25 years until his retirement in 1985. Erwin enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. Erwin was a member of the American Legion and a life long member of the Owatonna VFW. He was also a member of the Associated Church in Owatonna. Erwin is survived by his wife Betty of 66 years and nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother Ernest. Funeral services will be held Thursday May 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna, MN with Pastor Jim Oberg officiating. Internment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery with honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Owatonna VFW.
