Esther Caroline Erickson, 92, of Owatonna, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Traditions II. Esther was born December 9, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Anton and Anna (Benson) Carlson. She attended school in Winter, WI graduating from high school in 1935. She then attended secretarial school at Fox College in Chicago. Esther was united in marriage to Everett Erickson on June 26, 1943 in Chicago. She worked as a book keeper in Chicago and also a homemaker helping raise their four children. They made their home in Lansing, IL for 40 years before moving to Owatonna in 1992. Esther cared for Everett for many years after he was diagnosed with diabetes and Parkinson''s. They enjoyed camping, and traveling in their motor home after retirement. Esther was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteered with church activities. She also was involved with Super Seniors. She is survived by a daughter, Ruth (and Jerry) Williams of Owatonna; three sons, Donald (and Vickie) Erickson of Shingle Springs, CA; David Erickson of Owatonna; Robert (and Kathie) Erickson of Madison, AL; five grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett (2002), her parents, and a foster sister, Ruth Johnson. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 29, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Julie Malone officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
