Esther Minnie (Sorgatz) Tolzman, 89, of Waterville, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Redeemer Health and Rehab in Minneapolis. Esther was born January 20, 1927 on the family farm in Waterville Township, LeSueur County, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Minnie (Pruess) Sorgatz. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, North Morristown. On September 3, 1946 she married Alvin Tolzman at Trinity Lutheran Church North Morristown, MN. They farmed the family farm until October, 1967, when they moved to Owatonna. After moving to Owatonna Esther worked at E.F. Johnson's in Waseca and then as a school cook in the Owatonna School District. She was a charter member of the Steele Steppers Square Dance Club as well as a charter member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She enjoyed camping, sewing, crocheting, other crafts and family get-togethers. She leaves to mourn five sons, Fredrick (and Susie) Tolzman of Waterville; Robert Tolzman of Rural Hall, NC; Keith Tolzman of Craig, NE; David (and Shirley) Tolzman of Rural Hall, NC; Kenneth (and Kathy) Tolzman of Tucson, AZ; two daughters, Kathleen (and Randy) Zimmerman of Eden Prairie; Rosemary (and Scott) Milton of Maplewood; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; sister, Edna Morris of Waterville; two brothers, Art (and Nancy) Sorgatz of Waterville, and Delmar (and Marge) Sorgatz of Elkton. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; her parents; grandson Billy Zimmerman; brother-in-law, Melvin Morris. Visitation will be at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Owatonna, on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Reverend John Weisenburger and the Reverend Karl Korbel officiating.
