Ethna L. Hanson, age 93, of Oronoco, MN, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Rehoboth Adult and Elder Care in Oronoco. Ethna Lorraine Hanson was born on April 27, 1924 in Clay County, South Dakota the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Thompson) Norling. She attended country school and graduated from Beresford High School in 1942. She continued her education for one year at Rapid City School of Business. Ethna's first job was at Farmers Co-op in St. Paul. She was transferred to Sioux Falls where she met Don Hanson. The couple was married at Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church, rural Beresford in December of 1953. They made their home in Luverne, MN where they operated Hanson Silo Company until retirement in 1981. They then moved to Sun City Arizona. When Don died in 1995, Ethna continued living in Arizona until 2006 when she moved to Wanamingo to be closer to family. In 2012, she moved to Rehoboth in Oronoco. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kenyon. She is survived by her niece, Beverly (Robert) Jacobsen of Kenyon and nephew, Dale Olson of Sioux Falls and nieces and nephews of Don. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Clara; husband, Don; sister, Lois Olson; brother, Archie Norling; infant sister, Ruby Fern Norling and nephew, Wayne Olson. A Funeral Service will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home in Kenyon on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dana Houck officiating.
