Eugene H. Hanenberger, 77, of West Concord, Minnesota, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Kenyon Sunset Home. He was born July 15, 1930 in Guttenberg, IA, the son of Herman and Pearl (Schultz) Hanenberger . Eugene grew up in Eyota, MN and later married Donna Fitzgerald July 26, 1950in Rochester where the couple continued to live. Eugene farmed, and worked as a custodian and drove bus for the West Concord High School. He enjoyed fishing, and taking care of older people. Eugene is survived by his daughter Susan (Mark) Freeman of Cedar Park, TX, son Ron (Annette) Hanenberger of Fort Madison, IA, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Donna (Gary) Peterson of West Concord, and a brother Vernon (Janet) Hanenberger of Dover, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, and three sons Dennis, Dale, and Bob. Funeral service will be held Thursday May 15, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Concord with the Reverend Chris Brekke officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday May 14, 2008 at Michaelson Funeral Home in West Concord from 5-7 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.
