Evan Daniel Jacobson, 14, of rural Ellendale, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Owatonna Hospital due to injuries sustained in a farm accident. He was born September 25, 1995 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of John and Ellen (Danielson) Jacobson. Evan was an eighth grade student at Owatonna Junior High, whose goal was to farm with his special Uncle Jim. One of Evan''s greatest joys was his cattle. He was a member of the Meriden Meadowlarks 4-H Club where he showed cattle and did other projects; he enjoyed the Steele County Fair, playing 4-H softball, and the State Fair. Evan enjoyed country music, playing guitar hero, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and wrestling. Evan loved to visit. He would ride his bike around the neighborhood to talk to the neighbors and help them with whatever they were working on. Evan is survived by his parents, John and Ellen Jacobson, brother, Anders (Andy) Jacobson and sister, Greta Jacobson all of rural Ellendale. Evan is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Virginia Anderson of Owatonna, maternal grandfather, Dan (Barbara) Danielson of Phoenix, AZ; paternal grandmother, Jeannette Jacobson of New Richland; paternal great grandmother, Ivy Johnson of New Richland; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. His paternal grandfather Helmer Jacobson preceded him in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday October 19, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at The Associated Church on Tuesday from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 20, 2009 at 3:30 PM at The Associated Church with Dr. Ronald D. Wilson officiating. Memorials are preferred to the family to establish a scholarship fund in Evan''s name through the Steele County 4-H.
