Evelyn Serena Danielson Gunderson, 98, of Kenyon, entered into her eternal home on January 3, 2016. Evelyn was born July 3, 1917 in Cherry Grove Township, Minnesota the daughter of Jens and Martha (Barsness) Overby. She was a faithful member of Dale Lutheran Church, First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and Gol Lutheran Church. Evelyn was a church organist for over 30 years and played for numerous weddings, funerals, and community events. Evelyn also worked at various businesses in the Kenyon Community. Evelyn was a Gold Star Mother and past president of the VFW Auxiliary. Evelyn was a member of the Faribault Gun Club, earning many awards, and she also enjoyed playing cards. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Merseth of Cannon Falls; her son, Dennis (Susan) Danielson of Waukesha, WI; daughter-in-law, Mary Danielson-Gates of Kenyon; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Verna Overby of Nashua, NH and LaVonne Overby of Northfield; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin A. Danielson and Robert S. Gunderson; three brothers, Norman, LaVerne, and James, and his wife, Patricia Overby; son, Benjamin F. Danielson; son-in-law, Fred Merseth; grandson, Wm. R. Danielson. Visitation will be at Gol Lutheran Church, Kenyon on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Gol Lutheran Church, Kenyon with The Reverend Marvin Kormann officiating. Interment will be in the Gol Lutheran Cemetery in Kenyon. Memorials are preferred to Gol Lutheran Church of donor's choice. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
