Evelyn O. Germundson passed away at her home at North Ridge View in Kenyon, Minnesota on May 15, 2015 at the age of 97 years. Evelyn was born on November 20, 1917 in Cherry Grove Township, Kenyon, Minnesota, the daughter of Helmer and Thilda (Kolstad) Germundson. She was baptized and confirmed at Dale Lutheran Church of which she was a life-long member. She attended rural grade school and graduated from Kenyon High School. Following Normal School training, she began her teaching career in the Kenyon area. She later received her B.A. in Education from Winona State College and spent 40 years teaching elementary school in Willmar, Minnesota. After retiring in 1980, she returned to Kenyon to make her home. Friends and family were important to her and she set a lovely table for coffee or meals. She enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, knitting, reading, listening to Twins games and travelling. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, her church circle and had been a member of the Roundtable Club in Kenyon. Evelyn is survived by nieces, Karen (Darrel) Faulkner of Mantorville, Linda Germundson and Paula (Travis Way) Germundson of Kenyon, Suzanne (Dan) Battcher of Eden Prairie, Robin Germundson of Kasson and Lorna (John) Vankirk of Indianapolis; nephews, Rodney (Kathy) Kyllo of Owatonna, Scott (Eileen) Germundson and Dana (Linda) Germundson of Kenyon, Jay (Kathy) Germundson of Faribault and Brad (Shelly) Germundson of Mantorville. She was also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister-in-laws, Sanford and Edna Germundson and Roland (Bud) and Lois Germundson, sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Francis Kyllo and nephew, Randall Germundson. Visitation will be at Dale Lutheran Church, Kenyon on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Dale Lutheran Church, Kenyon with The Reverend Heather Culuris officiating. Interment will be in the Dale Lutheran Church Cemetery.
