Evonne Evelyn Klages, 78, of Owatonna, died Monday, June 15, 2020 at Pleasant Manor in Faribault.
She was born March 14, 1942 in Selma Township the daughter of Walter and Bertha (Finger) Wall. Evonne graduated from Comfrey High School in 1960. She married Lynn Klages on September 25, 1960 in Comfrey. The couple lived in various communities until settling in Faribault. While in Faribault, Evonne worked for the Faribault Daily News and the Faribault Canning Company. The family moved to Owatonna in 1973 and shortly thereafter Evonne started working for OTC. She retired from OTC after more than 33 years with the company.
Evonne was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling, crossword puzzles and reading. She also enjoyed going to the casino to celebrate her birthday with her daughter.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Klages of Owatonna, Lori (and Tim) Schroht of Owatonna; sons, Tim (and Rita) Klages of Elysian, Jeff (and Jean) Klages of Mounds View; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Lora Wendler, Barb (and Curt) Johnson, Jerry Wall, Nancy (and Jim) Sartor, Cindy (and Steve) Blackstad, Dan (and Terri Tolliver) Wall; brother in law, Fran Bussert and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Klages; siblings, Dorothy Schwartz, Lucy Johnson, Diane Bussert; brothers in law, Rich Schwartz, Andy Wendler
Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 11am at Redeemer Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
