Florence E. Hacmac, 93, of Owatonna, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at the Koda Living Community, Owatonna, after a long and loving life. She was born July 3, 1920, in Meriden Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward and Elsie (Ochs) Sexter. Florence attended country school and then worked at Tanner''s Hatchery in Owatonna. She married Melvin Hacmac, May 5, 1943, at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna; the couple farmed together in Lemond Township for 46 years. Florence was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna. She was an active member of the community, supporting programs for the American Cancer Society, United Way, and Healthy Seniors. She was well known for her flowers, large gardens, and baking, especially her biscuits and cloverleaf rolls. She is survived by her children Kathy Hacmac (Gary Johnson) of Minneapolis, Dr. Edward (Lorelei) Hacmac of Milwaukie, Oregon, Carol Hacmac of Owatonna, adopted son Samuel (Marlys) Hove, and seven grandchildren: Grant Johnson, Alyssa, Rachelle, Taylor, and Jared Hacmac, and Virginia (Jinya) and Nicholas Elsner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her loving husband, Melvin, preceded her in death in 1993 as well as her parents and four sisters, Elvera Mueller, Helen Stendel, Lenora Pelinka, and Lucille Dobberstein. She also joins other relatives and friends in heaven. A celebration of her life will take place at Associated Church on Monday, July 29, 2013, with a visitation at 2:30 p.m. and memorial service at 3:30 p.m. with The Reverend James Oberg officiating.
