Florence E. Lawson, 86, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Rochester Methodist Hospital. She was born December 20, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of Arthur and Augusta (Engelmann) Whitfield. Florence graduated from Kensington High School in Philadelphia, PA. She married Thomas N. Lawson May 2, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA. The couple lived on the east coast until moving to Owatonna in 1989. Florence was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was involved in many community activities in Owatonna. She is survived by her son, Thomas D. (and Kathleen) Lawson of Owatonna; daughter, Helen (and Paul) Sellevaag of Linwood, NJ; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her husband and 4 sisters. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday from 7-9pm and at Grace Baptist Church on Saturday from 1-2pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 2:00pm at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Burggraff officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
